Martial Arts: Fencing
Beginning September 12, 2011 for the duration of the winter, fencing practice will be held on Monday nights from 7-9 pm at the Auburn High School, 250 Lake Road in Auburn, NY in the vestibule in front of the main gym the SAC). We'll be just inside the doors to the right of the main entrance as you face the front of the building. At times when the SAC is in use by other groups, practice will be held in the Mirror Room. Park in the lot on the right side of the building and use the lower door (next to the indoor track). The Mirror Room is down the hall and to the left, across from the locker rooms.
From East: Take Rt. 5 to Auburn and veer left taking "Business District" exit to Rt. 38A. Go thru 2 traffic lights. At next light, turn right over bridge onto Lake Avenue. Auburn High is ahead just beyond divided highway - on the left.
Seward - Follow AHS directions to turn over bridge onto Lake Avenue, go thru 2 traffic lights and take second right onto Metcalf Drive. Seward is one block ahead on left.
From West: Rt. 5 to intersection with Rt. 34. Turn right onto Route 34 South. Go to 5th traffic light and turn left onto Metcalf Drive. Seward School is ahead on right. For High School, go past Seward to end of Metcalf, turn right onto Lake Avenue. High School is ahead on left.

Arts & Sciences
Arts & Science (A&S) meetings are on the 1st, 3rd, and (if there is one) the 5th Sundays of the month at 3-6 pm. We meet at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 607 North Seward Avenue, Auburn NY 13021, in the downstairs meeting room. Topics will vary, and since we are a small group people will very often bring whatever they are currently working on and it becomes a stitch n' scribe n' song n' bull night. If you're interested in a specific topic be sure to mention it, and even if someone in the group isn't familiar with it, you can be sure they will be able to find someone who is.
How to find us: From Syracuse, take Rte 5 into Auburn. Make a left onto North Seward Ave (by the Taco Bell). The UU is a small red building on your right, just over the crest of the hill.
From points west: Take your best way to Rte 20 East (Arterial/Grant Ave). Make a right onto North Seward (at the Fast Trac gas station). The UU is a small red building on your right, just over the crest of the hill and past the Women's Health Specialists.
From the south, Catch either Rte 34 or Rte 38 and turn right onto Rtes 5 & 20 East (Grant Ave/Arterial). Make a right onto North Seward (at the Fast Trac gas station). The UU is a small red building on your right, just over the crest of the hill and past the Women's Health Specialists.
From the North, come in on either Rte 34 or Rte 38 and turn left onto Rtes 5 & 20 East (Grant Ave/Arterial). Make a right onto North Seward (at the Fast Trac gas station). The UU is a small red building on your right, just over the crest of the hill and past the Women's Health Specialists.
Business Meetings
Generally, Shire business will be taken care of on the 1st Sunday of the month at the A&S meeting. Official matters may also be discussed on the Shire newsgroup. |
